Aspergers Adults Symptoms

Some Aspergers adults symptoms include experiencing problems with managing their anger, feeling a lot of stress when their routine changes suddenly, high intelligence, lack of having the appropriate conduct socially and thinking which is inflexible.

Other Aspergers adults symptoms include having a lack of empathetic feelings for others, thinking visually, fields of interest that are highly focused, not being able to think abstractly and feeling secure when they have routines that involve a lot of repetition.

Adults who are suffering from Aspergers are also not able to listen to others well and having feelings such as anxiety, fear or depression that they are controlling.

Aspergers Adults Treatment

When it comes to issues involving Aspergers adults treatment, keep in mind that this syndrome really has no cure. There are a few adult therapies for those who have this disorder.

The first step of treatment usually involves not just a questionnaire but being able to realize that as an Asperger sufferer, you are just as capable as other people in terms of function, and all you need is to go through therapy to help your communication skills.

Each Aspergers sufferer does have different symptoms and your therapy will usually depend on what particular symptoms you tend to exhibit the most.

Many Aspergers sufferers do not go through treatment but rather, go back to their set ways and just accept the fact that they will most likely be called and treated like ‘odd balls’ for the rest of their lives.

Aspergers Adults Relationships

Aspergers adults relationships include having inappropriate behavior in terms of sexuality, since Aspergers adults do indeed have the exact same sexual urges as normal people, but with the inability to read communication cues and respond to other appropriately.

Biologically, Aspergers adults are able to have children but because they really have a very hard time ‘reading’ other people’s emotions, it is not recommended and if they do decide to pursue marriage and children, they will need to go through some challenges which may be surmounted through therapy.

On the other hand, if the spouse understands this syndrome, and can adjust accordingly coupled with therapy for the Aspergers adult, marriage and children may not be a problem.

High Functioning Aspergers Adults

Many high functioning Aspergers adults tend to fit into society and build independent, successful lives. Many find their specialties when it comes to careers and some even have active social lives or successful marriages.

Average people may not even realize that Aspergers adults have Aspergers and rather, think that their friend is merely ‘quirky.’ High functioning Aspergers adults may have a hard time in the workplace if they will need to socialize frequently as part of their job.

What usually happens is that Aspergers adults cannot hold down jobs as well as regular adults, especially if frequent socialization and changes in routines are involved, such as a sales job. However, if the job requires accounting and this is what they excel in, the workplace can be great for the Aspergers adult.

Help for Aspergers Adults
